Lucio Frydman
Weizmann Institute

Prof. Lucio Frydman earned BSc in chemistry (1986) and PhD in physical chemistry (1990) from the University of Buenos Aires. After postdoctoral studies at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, he joined the faculty of the University of Illinois’ Department of Chemistry in 1992, where he became Full Professor in 1999. In 2001, he joined the Weizmann Institute's Department of Chemical Physics. He became the director of the The Clore Institute for High Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy in 2015 which, together with the Department of Chemical and Biological Physics, he headed until 2024. Since 2012 he is also Chief Scientist in Chemistry and Biology at the US National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Florida. Prof. Frydman’s research focuses on magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and imaging (MRI)
